The message of Salvation

“God has given no other name under heaven [other than Jesus] by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12, NLT). It is the crux of the matter, the dividing line between life and death. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16, NKJV).

The message of salvation, then, is first and foremost a message of love, “coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like the shifting shadows” (James 1:17, NIV). And every single person is the object of that incredible love. “In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins” (1 John 4:10, AMP).

That, in a nutshell, is the message of salvation.

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:17, NKJV). As such, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved” (Rom. 10:9-10, NLT).

Do you believe in your heart? Have you confessed with your mouth? If so, then you are saved. You are embarking on a new life with God by your side.

Lonely

Jesus said: "I will be with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:20
"Even if my father and mother should desert me, you will take care of me. Psalm 27:10

So you should take comfort in knowing that the most important person in the universe will always be with you - God. People may leave you but God won't. He's as close as you want him to be - as close as the mention of his name.

Cultivate a relationship with Him. Speak to Him (pray) and read His word, the Bible.

This is the ultimate cure for loneliness.

Sick

People brought to Jesus all those who were sick, suffering from all kinds of diseases and disorders: People with demons, epileptics, paralytics even the dead. Jesus healed them all! Matthew 4:24.
If you:
  • Pray in faith (believing), not wavering (no doubt). James 1:6
  • Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another. James 5:16
  • Have the elders of the church lay hands on you, pray for you and anoint you with oil in the name of Jesus.

The result will be:

  • "They shall recover" Mark 16:18
  • "The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up." James 5:15
  • "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you." John 15:7

Although God desires to heal everyone, He is soveriegn and may choose not to heal you for different reasons. He knows what is best and sometimes you may have to wait or deal with more important issues in your life.
After God has healed you, tell someone. Please let us know if you've been healed.

Betrayed

Have you been betrayed by someone you trusted ? Friend, spouse, business partner ? If so, you're in good company. Jesus, after having lived a sinless life, after having done so much good to so many people, found himself betrayed not only by His own people, but by one of His own desciples. Sometimes life throws us a curve...something totally unexpected which leaves us defenseless. It is at this point that God can intervene and pick us up:
"God is our shelter and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not be afraid, even if the earth is shaken and mountains fall into the ocean depths."     Psalm 46:1-2
"The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?" Hebrews 13:6

Worried

"When I felt my feet slipping, you came with your love and kept me steady. And when I was burdened with worries, you comforted me and made me feel secure. Psalm 94:18-19.
"Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking Him with a thankful heart. And God's peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ." Philippeans 4:6-7
Worrying won't help - it'll only discourage you, shift your focus from what God can do and place it on your situation.
